What is the Endocannabinoid System and how does it work with CBD?
The Endo-Cannabinoid System
But HOW does CBD work? Is it all hype?
Due to the rapid rise of CBD here in New York, we often come across these sort of questions, and no, CBD is not all hype (yay!) Cannabinoids helping to strengthen the Endo-Cannabinoid system is backed by science.
Endocannabinoid what?
The Endo-Cannabinoid System (ECS) was discovered about 30 years ago and it's the largest receptor system in the body, CBD, being a cannabinoid directly interacts with the ECS. The ECS is made up of Endo-Cannabinoid receptors which occur all throughout the body, affecting almost every organ which is why there is such a wide range of benefits associated with CBD.
One of the most exciting benefits of CBD is that it works to help treat chronic low lying inflammation which is the seed of many diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, ADD, anxiety, and stress. These all stem from inflammation in the body therefore by reducing inflammation now we can help to prevent these diseases from ever occurring.
To listen to more about the CBD and the Endo-Cannabinoid System we recommended The Brave New Weed podcast, this episode features Dr. Junella Chin speaking all things ECS, how she experienced the benefits of CBD personally, and also results she's seen in patients she treats.
