Westbourne
Downtown Eats,
A neighborhood place, grounded and good.
Welcome, west~bourne, an all-day cafe committed to neighborhood hospitality.
The owner, Camilla Marcus, a Los Angeles native and adopted New Yorker, is dedicated not only to bridging her two favorite cities, but also giving back to the community.
Through a partnership with the Robin Hood Foundation, one percent of every purchase at west~bourne will go to Soho neighbor The Door, which provides free youth-development services. They’ll also fund and build a neighborhood “hands-on hospitality retraining program” with The Door, from which they’ll hire employees. Further, west~bourne’s focus on community includes a commitment to a zero-waste approach.
The menu is playful, with an emphasis on organic and local produce, inspired by the wholesome, vibrant bounty of the west coast. El Rey fans will be stoked to see grain bowl dishes like “Brussels + Flow” with brussels sprouts, so-called sun-kissed tomato, aioli, smoked almonds, basil, and mint, or the “Over the Rainbowl” with brown basmati rice, lentil falafel, sweet potatoes, broccoli, kale, pickled beets, and jalapeño tahini.
west~bourne, accidentally vegetarian and decidedly mindful, committed to rethinking what it means to be a good neighbor through the lens of hospitality.
